	Castle of Dogubeyazit And Safii Mosque Photo Gallery     Date : July 01, 2004 Camera : Pretec DC 2300 Orginal Resolution : 800 x 600 pixel Although the exact date of its construction is not known, Castle of Dogubeyazit is supposed to have been built in 4th century by Urartus as a small defence castle. It was constructed on very steep rocks, in the notrh east of Ishak Pascha Palace. In the middle parts of the there are temples and caves. The Armenian and Yezidi are said to have used these places as temporary temples. The castle is also called ''CİNVİZ castle'' on the hill in the castle there is a two storey old mansion built, which is also known as pasha castle. According to some historians the castle was restored in 1401 by Yıldırım Bayazıt. There is a (mosque) building which is called Şafii Mosque cannot accept any visitors now.
